Mission and Vision

Integra Group creates economic opportunities that give the vulnerable a life of dignity through education, market access, and business investment.

We work to help groups at risk gain business skills, to create job opportunities, to decrease dependency on outside assistance, to strengthen economic development, and to build democratic civil society.

Our vision is to build successful and sustainable small and medium enterprises with clear CSR strategies which ensure that the enterprise:

1. practices business in a transparent and ethical manner

2. contributes to the development of its community

3. supports its own philanthropic activities

History

Integra, started in Slovakia in 1995, was the idea of Milan Cicel and Allan Bussard, co-directors of a consulting company. They saw a need to help the growing number of small and medium enterprises facing an uncertain future during the transition economy in Central Europe. The initial focus of Integra's activities included organizing trainings for enterpreneurs. It was later expanded to offering business loans to them and establishing support groups for them.

Market trends and the needs of our clients were the catalysts to launch a microcredit program for women at risk in 1999 and a program to enhance corporate social responsibility.

Along the way, Integra expanded its network which now includes more than 50 employees working with hundreds of small enterprises in 7 countries of Central and Eastern Europe, Russia, and Africa.
